Chicago Park District Phase 5 Mask Policy

As the health and well-being of children in our parks is our highest priority and with most of the children in our programs not eligible to receive the vaccine, the Chicago Park District will continue to require that face coverings be worn by everyone who enters our indoor spaces when children are present.  If children are not present, vaccinated persons may remove their face coverings.

The Chicago Park District encourages everyone to follow the recommendations of public health officials from the Chicago Department of Public Health, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and unvaccinated persons should continue to wear a face covering in crowded outdoor settings or in instances where social distancing cannot be maintained.

The fieldhouse, which was redesigned in 2014, is the central hub for the indoor and outdoor programming of the park throughout the seasons. The park’s core programs, such as day camp, play school and fitness classes are offered at this location along with additional program activities that support the new park features, including the climbing wall and skating rentals.

Within the fieldhouse, visitors will find washrooms, lockers, skate/climbing wall rental counter, and three community rooms used primarily for park programs. Community rooms are not available for rent due to COVID. For more information, please contact the park at the info below.

For information about Chicago Park District programs, visit or contact the Park District directly.
