Youth Escort Policy

Effective May 20, 2022, the Chicago Park District has enacted the following Youth Escort Policy for Maggie Daley Park.

For the comfort and safety of all visitors, Maggie Daley Park has put in place a youth escort policy for entrance to and presence in the Park after 6 p.m. on all Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Maggie Daley Park visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21 years of age during these hours. An adult who is at least 21 years of age may escort up to four minor guests. Guests may be asked to present a valid photo identification card, such as a driver’s license, state ID, student ID, or military ID, upon entering Maggie Daley Park. Maggie Daley Park reserves the right to implement the youth escort policy on other days and at other times, on an as-needed basis, when justified by objective circumstances demonstrating a substantial likelihood of large gatherings of unsupervised youths. Youths under the age of 18 may enter the Park unaccompanied while the youth escort policy is in effect if they (1) are engaged in employment at Maggie Daley Park; or (2) are attending an official school, religious, or other recreational activity supervised by adults and sponsored by the Chicago Park District, the City of Chicago, a civic organization, or another similar entity that takes responsibility for the minor.

Is the Ice-Skating Ribbon open?

The ice-skating ribbon is Closed for the 2023-24 Season. Ribbon scheduled to re-open Friday, November 15, 2024 – 2024-25 Information and Pricing will be released in October.

When is the park open?

Maggie Daley Park is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm 7 days a week.

Is there an admission fee for the park?

No, there is not an admission fee for the park. However, there are costs associated with the climbing wall, bungee, mini golf, skating ribbon, and snack kiosk.

How can I rent space for an event at Maggie Daley Park?

Maggie Daley Park has a variety of unique spaces to host your next birthday party, picnic, corporate meeting or wedding. Please complete the Event Application Form and submit to info@maggiedaleypark.com for next steps on securing your event space. You may also call 312.352.3000 with any event related questions.

Does the park have a lost and found?

Lost and found items at Maggie Daley Park are maintained by security and are available for 24/7 pick-up by calling security directly at 312.937.1830.

Are dogs allowed in the park? 

Dogs are ONLY allowed on the path indicated in the image below. Dogs are only allowed on the path as a pass through, please DO NOT allow dogs on grass.

Is alcohol allowed in the park?

Alcohol is permitted only in designated areas during private events, with a Caterer’s License.

Is grilling allowed in the park?

Grilling, barbecuing or any activities involving fire are not permitted in the park.

Is smoking permitted in the park?

No. Smoking is not permitted inside the park.

Are bikes allowed in the park?

Bike riding is not allowed in the park. Visitors must walk their bikes through the park or park them in the bike parking areas located around the perimeter of the park. Bikes left in the park will be removed.

What will the Ice Ribbon path be used for the summer?

The Ice Ribbon path will be used as a walking, scootering and roller blading.

How can I rent space for an event in Grant Park?

For special event rental in Grant Park, please contact the Chicago Park District Permits Department (Department of Revenue) at 312.742.5369.

Can I book a field trip or student group visit to the park?
