Chicago Park District Mask Policy

Effective February 28, 2022, face coverings will not be required for Park District patrons, with limited exceptions detailed below.

While face coverings are not required in most settings, we strongly recommend that individuals continue to wear face coverings if they are unvaccinated or immunocompromised, or if they are interacting with people that are unvaccinated, including children under the age of five.

Masks will still be required during all transportation on buses or other vehicles.

*  Please also note that parks located in Chicago Public School (CPS) buildings must follow CPS mask policy which currently requires masks in all indoor settings.

Many patrons and employees may choose to continue to wear a mask – please be kind to anyone that makes this choice. We fully support and encourage any patron or employee that makes the decision to continue wearing a mask.

Picnic Groves

Picnic Groves

There are areas all over Maggie Daley Park to enjoy a picnic. There are two Picnic Groves that are located on the east side of the park and can be rented for private events. Featuring natural wood picnic tables, each grove can accommodate between 30 and 50 people. It’s the perfect spot to come enjoy lunch, host a birthday or family function. Additional space can be provided by including the adjacent lawn space to your event.

Admission to the park is free. Picnic Groves that are not reserved are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a Picnic Grove, submit the Event Application Form to info@maggiedaleypark.com.
